Chicago Healthcare Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 – Prime location for Illinois nursing jobs with easy access to public transportation, entertainment, and diverse neighborhoods.
• Healthcare Setting: Level I Trauma Center, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/02/2025 – End: 12/02/2025)
• Nursing Shift: 4x10-hour evening shifts per week (1:00pm – 11:30pm)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2050–$2100
• Employment Type: Locum tenens, travel nurse contract
• Charting System: Cerner EMR
• Parking: $2/day with shuttle service every 15 minutes

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (required for Chicago nursing jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care PACU experience in a Level I trauma setting
• 1-2 years of critical care nursing experience, including ventilator management
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Ability to complete compliance requirements promptly
• Local candidates accepted (must live within 75 miles of facility)

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-anesthesia patients in a fast-paced Level I trauma environment
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from anesthesia, including ventilator support
• Float to various units within the facility as needed, supporting collaborative healthcare teams
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Comply with facility policies regarding time off, floating, and compliance
