Electro‑Discharge Machining Field Support Specialist

Join a customer-facing team based out of Montgomery, IL, 60538, delivering on-site support for EDM equipment nationwide. Expect 75%–90% travel to customer locations throughout the U.S. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize machines ranging from classic 1980s models to modern platforms—keeping mission-critical operations running smoothly.

What you will do

• On-site installs, maintenance, and repair of EDM systems (legacy to present day).
• Rapid diagnosis and resolution of mechanical, electrical, and controls issues.
• Preventative maintenance, inspections, and precise calibrations aligned to Nuclear & Aerospace Standards.
• Accurate documentation of service calls, repairs performed, and parts/inventory used.
• Clear, professional communication with customers; capture needs and set expectations.
• Team with peers and leadership to enhance service processes and elevate satisfaction.
• Continuously upskill on new tools, technologies, and industry trends.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree/certification preferred.
• Experience in a Field Service Technician or similar technical service role.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skill set.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; self-directed with strong time management.
• Valid driver’s license; open to extensive travel.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools: multimeter, O-scope, and related software.
• Willingness to learn PLC programming software and comparable platforms.
