Legal Administrative Assistant

LaSalle Network is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant for a full-service business law firm in the Chicago Loop. This temp-to-hire role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys supporting attorneys, and contributes to a collaborative office culture. Immediate availability is a plus!

Key Responsibilities

• Manage e-filing and traditional court document filings across multiple jurisdictions

• Prepare, edit, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and agreements

• Assist with complex document production, including Bates stamping

• Draft basic pleadings and correspondence

• Prepare court filings, create PDFs, and properly bookmark exhibits

• Build accurate Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities in Word

• Draft shell responses to discovery requests

• Coordinate with court staff on filing or procedural issues

• Schedule depositions, reserve conference rooms, and coordinate court reporters/videographers

• Perform conflict checks and open new matters

• Maintain litigation pleading indices and support firm administration

• Deliver documents to courts as required

• Maintain electronic and physical filing systems

• Answer phones and greet visitors

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of legal administrative experience in a law firm

• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Familiarity with legal terminology, court documents, and filing procedures

• Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts

• Excellent writing, organizational, and time-management skills

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure

• Professional, courteous, and team-oriented demeanor

• Experience with Worldox, Tabs 3 Billing, or PracticeMaster is a plus
