Associate Architect

Overview

We are seeking a talented and innovative Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and the ability to contribute to projects from conception through completion. As an Architect, you will be working under the supervision of Project Managers, Directors, and Principals to produce documents for all design phases, from schematic design to construction administration. You will also have opportunities to engage with clients and consultants in coordinating project requirements and deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution
• 1-3 years’ post graduate experience in at least one of the following areas: single-family homes, multi-family mid-rises, commercial, hospitality, historical, and/or adaptive re-use
• Communicates problems encountered and develops preliminary solutions to review
• Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex issues and supervisory approval on proposed project plans
• Strong design skills
• Proficiency in Revit
• 3D modeling / rendering skills desired
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to clients and team members
• Excellent skills in document composition, drafting, and drawing set preparation
• Self-guided task and time management skills
• Construction administration experience desired
• Proficient in Adobe Suite products
• A portfolio showcasing your previous work (this is required for consideration)

Additional Skills

• Experience in on-site field measuring and sketching
• Client and consultant coordination
• Knowledge of city of Chicago zoning and building codes and IBC codes
• NCARB Architectural Experience Program (AXP) underway

The annual compensation for this position is $50,000 - $65,000.
