Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Science Endorsement specific to Middle Grades (5-8 or 6-9)
• Demonstrated experience teaching general education science to middle school students
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere
• Enthusiasm for building relationships with students, staff, and families

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging science instruction aligned with state standards and best practices for middle grades
• Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities
• Assess and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
• Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that inspires inquiry and exploration
