Paraprofessional (Full-Time, In-Person ) – 2025–2026 School Year
Ampersand Therapy is hiring Behavior Support Specialists to join our school-based team for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a full-time, in-person role with opportunities to work 1:1 or as a classroom aide in elementary and junior high school settings.

Position Details
Schedule: Full-Time (in-person only)
Start Date: ASAP

Your Key Responsibilities

• Essential Functions

• Support students with academic tasks, functional skills, and behavioral needs as outlined in their IEPs.

• Assist students during classroom activities, transitions, and unstructured times (e.g., lunch, recess, community settings).

• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to reinforce learning and promote skill development.

• Adapt and support instructional materials, schedules, and environments to meet individual student needs.

• Implement classroom management and behavior support strategies to ensure safety and engagement.

• Maintain accurate records and assist with documentation of student progress.

• Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, and school staff to coordinate learning and support plans.

• Utilize and assist students with technology, adaptive equipment, and assistive devices as needed.

• Help students access facilities and participate safely in daily activities.

• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• In-person applicants only
• paraprofessional PEL license
• Associate Degree (AA) required
• Previous school experience strongly preferred
• Experience supporting students with behavioral or social-communication disabilities required
• Must pass a criminal background check
