Manufacturing Process Optimization Engineer — Automotive

A day in this role
You’ll join a high‑energy manufacturing team focused on elevating quality and throughput across our automotive production lines. Mornings often start with a scan of operational KPIs to spot trends, followed by shop‑floor walks to observe flow, confirm standards, and identify bottlenecks. Afternoons might include piloting a new process technology, running a root‑cause session on a scrap spike, and updating clear, operator‑friendly documentation. Throughout, you’ll partner closely with production, quality, design, and maintenance to turn insights into sustainable improvements.
What you will do
- Analyze current manufacturing workflows to drive efficiency gains and cost reductions.
- Design, test, and deploy new process technologies that enable robust product development and production.
- Collaborate across functions to surface issues quickly and implement durable fixes.
- Lead structured root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process deviations.
- Create, refine, and control process specifications, work instructions, and improvement records.
- Coach and mentor production team members on new methods, standards, and best practices.
- Track and report key performance indicators to verify effectiveness and compliance.
What you bring
- 4+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or process engineering.
- Sharp analytical mindset with a track record of practical problem solving.
- Hands‑on with process mapping and continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma or similar).
- Clear communicator and effective collaborator across shop floor and engineering teams.
- Working knowledge of CAD and common engineering toolsets.
- Comfort operating in a fast‑moving, team‑oriented environment.
