Medical Assistant - Neurology (Urbana)

Overview

The Medical Assistant I is responsible for maintaining patient‑care supplies, ensuring the timely movement of patients through the department, and assisting physicians and nurses in delivering optimal care to patients and families.


Qualifications

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
• Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent

Responsibilities

• Perform routine direct patient‑care tasks to support medical and nursing staff during examinations and treatments.
• Maintain the patient‑care environment and supplies to ensure privacy, safety, and readiness.
• Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
• Perform visual field testing.
• Obtain vital signs for provider evaluations.
• Assist with lumbar puncture procedures.
• Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies.
• Stock supplies and clean patient rooms to maintain workflow and safety.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $17.12per hour - $27.73per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
