Digital Commerce Contractor
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who can think strategically AND execute, with a strong understanding of ecommerce, content performance, and emerging AI-driven search best practices.
This is a two month, part-time project (20-30 hours a week) with the potential to extend beyond that. While the role is remote, the ideal candidate will sit in the Chicagoland area and have the ability to be onsite if needed.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct comprehensive website audits across product pages, landing pages, imagery, UX, and brand consistency
- Audit and optimize retailer product pages (digital shelf) to ensure best-in-class content and imagery
- Refresh and optimize site content and copy to improve search visibility and overall performance
- Align content with retailer search algorithms and broader omnichannel strategy
- Prepare and structure content for AI indexing and search optimization
- Partner with brand, omni-channel, and agency teams to source, refine, and implement content updates
- Identify gaps in content, navigation, and SEO structure, recommending data-driven improvements
- Manage and update product content using tools like Salsify, Profitero, or similar platforms
- 4+ years experience in digital commerce, ecommerce, or omnichannel content optimization
- Strong expertise in website and content audits, including UX, imagery, and brand consistency
- Understanding of the digital shelf and retailer ecosystems (Walmart, Target, Amazon, Kroger, Instacart, etc.)
- Experience developing and optimizing content strategy and copy for both brand voice and performance
- Familiarity with AI content readiness and structuring content for modern search environments
- Experience in CPG is a must (food/ beverage highly preferred)
- Experience working in analytics tools like Salsify or Profitero
