In addition, you will serve as project coordinator for full-range complex projects, very large hardware/software deployments and installations, documentation, testing, and implementation of complex vendor supplied software systems across multiple agencies and locations. - Under administrative direction, serves as a Mainframe Security Administrator – Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performing complex professional and advisory functions related to Mainframe Systems Security, Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) Software, exercising substantial creativity and originality to reach the final objective.
- Conducts and coordinates in-depth studies involving substantial technical research and systems analysis.
- Performs advanced problem diagnostics of complex operating systems and problems.
- Serves as project coordinator for full-range complex projects, very large hardware/software deployments and installations, documentation, testing, and implementation of complex vendor supplied software systems across multiple agencies and locations
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Systems Services or a related Information Technology field.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience administering Mainframe Systems Security such as Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) or zSecure, including managing user access, profiles, audit reporting, and security policy enforcement.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience with mainframe utilities and tools such as TSO, ISPF, SMP/E and JCL, including performing security audits, diagnosing complex system problems, and implementing software installations or patches.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience administering Mainframe operating systems such as z/VM, z/OS, z/Linux or similar systems, including security configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Three (3) years of professional experience administering Mainframe Systems Security such as Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) or zSecure, including managing user access, profiles, audit reporting, and security policy enforcement.
- Three (3) years of professional experience with mainframe utilities and tools such as TSO, ISPF, SMP/E and JCL, including performing security audits, diagnosing complex system problems, and implementing software installations or patches.
- Three (3) years of professional experience administering Mainframe operating systems such as z/VM, z/OS, z/Linux or similar systems, including security configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Three (3) years of professional experience serving as a project lead coordinator in an Information Technology environment, including large-scale deployments, cross-agency system implementations, or enterprise software upgrades.
- Ability to develop IT security policies, procedures, and technical standards for mainframe environments to support enterprise compliance and operational consistency.
- Working knowledge of supporting disaster recovery planning and testing for mainframe security and system availability.
- Ability to analyze data and evaluate complex technical, operational, and security related data to identify risks, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with technical teams, agency customers, and vendors, including acting as a liaison to resolve service-level issues and escalate critical concerns.
- Ability to coordinate and guide the activities of technical staff and project teams to achieve security and operational objectives.
- Developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare security audit reports, develop technical documentation, and explain complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
