Locum MD (Medical Doctor);DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Gastroenterology
Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Gastroenterology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and treating patients with gastrointestinal conditions, ensuring high-quality care and patient satisfaction. As a Locum MD or DO in Gastroenterology , you will be involved in a variety of projects, including performing endoscopic procedures, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and educating patients on preventive healthcare measures. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining the health and well-being of individuals in need of specialized gastroenterological care. Responsibilities:
- Conduct consultations and physical examinations of patients with gastrointestinal issues.
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies.
- Interpret laboratory and imaging tests to diagnose conditions accurately.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
- Provide patient education on lifestyle modifications and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient encounters.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
- Valid state medical license to practice as a physician.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in patient care.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and evidence-based medical care.
Schedule: 7a-7p + overnight beeper call
Level II trauma
Setting: 100% inpatient
Daily Volume: 4-5 new consults, 15-18 inpatients, 4 procedures
ERCP and EUS required
Must be comfortable with moderate sedation
Support Staff: 1-2 APPs
Must teach APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
