Accounts Payable Clerk

Position: Accounts Payable Clerk

Pay: $20-$21/hr

Location: Bartlett, IL

Schedule: 8AM - 5PM with a 1 hour break.


We are looking for candidates who can process invoices to a volume of 175 or more a day. Initially, they will begin processing paper documentation and assisting with clerical duties. They will then be moved to processing payables in computerized systems. Candidates with experience in JD Edwards and/or Bottom Line are a huge plus.


To be successful the candidates must have computer skills, be organized, and be detail-oriented.


Education: a college degree is not required.

• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices and expense reports and recording entries.

• Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving purchase order/contract/invoice/payment discrepancies, ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos, and issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments when needed.

• Pay employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances, and preparing checks.

• Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential and continuously improving the payment process.

• Process customer credits.
