Principal Specialist Solution Architect
About the role:
The North America Red Hat Telco team is seeking a Principal Specialist Solution Architect who will support the Sales teams, provide resales technical support to the prospects. The person will be responsible for working independently and setting the mid-term strategic direction, whilst exercising independent judgment and business acumen to work on and resolve highly complex issues that impact the success of critical projects, valuable relationships, and key business processes. This role may lead the activities of other professional staff, serving as an expert regional or functional subject matter expert, and mentors colleagues in their own discipline. The position collaborates closely with account teams, product engineering, customer success, and partner ecosystems to align solutions with business outcomes.
You'll work with key Telecom customers both on-site and remotely to build a relationship of trust and confidence between Red Hat and the customer's engineering, development, and operations teams.
To be successful, you'll need to gain an understanding of the customer's business needs and align those needs with the capabilities of our solutions. You will also play a crucial role in bringing together internal cross-functional teams to satisfy our most challenging customers. You'll serve as the customer's advocate with these teams to architect the best solution and ensure that it is implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way.
This role may come into contact with confidential or sensitive customer information requiring special treatment in accordance with Red Hat policies and applicable privacy laws.
What you will do:
- Deliver successful workshops of both technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape and influence customer use cases and architecture design decisions.
- Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat’s services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in the areas of 5G RAN, Openshift Container Platform, Red Hat AI technologies, by producing world-class white papers, webinars, etc., and speaking at industry-leading conferences.
- Define technical strategy for high-value opportunities, including complex RFx responses.
- Lead cross-functional teams in solution design and validation.
- Influence product roadmaps based on customer and industry insights.
- Represent the company as a thought leader in industry forums.
- Develop advanced reusable assets to accelerate solution adoption.
What you will bring:
- 10+ years of IT industry experience, working in regulated industries including Telecom, Finance, government, healthcare and power.
- 5+ years of proven experience in Telecom sector, especially 5G, RAN, etc.
- Hands-on experience in Red Hat technologies like - Openshift Container Platform, or comparable Kubernetes platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
- Solid background in consultative customer engagement with a major professional services organization or within the services division of a major software company
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms
- Solutions-sales mentality in an environment with multiple products and services
- Ability to work seamlessly with distributed, cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
- Excellent balance of strategic and tactical skills with a high level of intellectual agility and capacity for original thought
- Willingness to travel up to 80%

The salary range for this position is $211,650.00 - $349,250.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
