Clinical Advocate: Full-time
The Clinical Advocate is responsible for providing therapeutic and supportive services to high-risk children and their foster families with the goal of facilitating and/or maintaining placement in a stable environment that optimizes the child’s mental health, growth, and development.
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or an associated field.
- Previous experience in a child welfare agency preferred.
- Previous experience providing trauma-informed clinical care to youth and families preferred.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and ability to work effectively with children, parents, staff, school personnel, oversight agencies, and the public.
- Must be able and willing to do home visits in nearby and surrounding communities.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and be available for emergencies.
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and access to a car that can be used for services to clients.
- Sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural differences in the staff and client populations.
- Commitment to antiracist, anti-oppressive, and self-reflective practice.
