Foster Care Case Manager
Job Summary:
The Foster Care Case Manager performs case management services for children and families in regular, specialized or home-of-relative foster care programs. The goal is to emphasize meeting clients’ environmental and psychosocial needs, as well as implementing a permanent living plan for each child.
We are offering a $1,500 sign-on bonus to licensed candidates who are hired. The new hire must have all DCFS required examinations and certifications completed, including the DCFS Child Welfare Licensure in order to qualify for the bonus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly home visits or more frequently as the program requires.
- Arrange and supervise visits between children and their birth parents.
- Transport children as needed for visits with biological parents.
- Prepare, maintain and provide documents and reports of cases and appear and/or testify in court as necessary.
- Assess birth parents and children for strengths and needs.
- Refer clients to services and monitor progress in services.
- Complete data entry into client management systems.
- Consult and review cases with supervisor and follow the course of action.
- May recruit, study and license foster homes.
- Work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team to do what is in the best interest of the child/family.
We are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Service, Psychology or similar degree from an accredited university.
- Passing of all DCFS required examinations and certifications including the DCFS Child Welfare Licensure.
- 1 year of experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license, access to an insured automobile and acceptable driving record
- Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships
Must have a good driving record and willingness to travel. This position requires traveling to different site locations, court and home visiting.

Salary Range for Masters degree: $54,550-$66,550.
Salary Range for Bachelors degree: $50,050- $56,600.
