Seasonal Nursery Worker
Possibility Place Nursery
Possibility Place Nursery is a family-owned farm in Monee, IL specializing in growing trees, shrubs and perennials native to our region. We grow native plants to help communities and individuals increase biodiversity and improve ecological function of their natural spaces, from vast wild areas to small back yards. We are an environmentally conscious, ecologically minded company looking to do our part to contribute to habitat restoration and help fight climate change, one plant at a time. We are looking for a hardworking, plant-loving people to join our team.
Primary responsibilities will be caring for crops, assisting in production, harvesting trees, and loading customer orders.
Positions start immediately and run to the end of November.
Required Qualifications
· Desire to get your hands dirty in a fast-paced work environment while learning about the beautiful native plants in our area.
· A love for plants! No formal training, education or experience in horticulture is necessary.
· Ability to lift and walk while carrying up to 50 pounds, occasionally 75-100 pounds with assistance.
· Ability to stand for several hours at a time while working in a field; ability to work in all weather conditions.
· Availability of at least 3 days a week, Monday through Friday, 7am-3:30pm. 5 days a week preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
While these qualifications are not required, preference will be given to candidates who meet these qualifications. Pay will be reflective of additional qualifications.
· Previous experience working on a small farm or nursery.
· Experience driving farm equipment, such as tractors or skidsteers.
