ER RN Job Details – Chicago, IL Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois healthcare jobs) Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center, Emergency Department Position Type: Travel Nursing Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: September 2, 2025 End Date: December 2, 2025 Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,910 - $1,960/week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) Floating: Required within facility and up to 50 miles as needed Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided) Charting System: Cerner EMR Parking: $2/day at nearby facility with shuttle service ER Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois RN license (required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (no COVID-19 exemptions; medical/religious exemptions for Flu only) Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs Strong communication skills and ability to meet compliance deadlines ER RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment Perform triage, assessment, and stabilization for patients with acute and critical conditions Manage arterial and central lines, IV vasopressors, and ventilated patients Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias; manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure Administer continuous IV sedation and CPAP/BiPAP as needed Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR Float to other units within the hospital or within 50 miles as required Ready to take the next step in your emergency nursing career?
