Job Title: Network Operations Technician (NOC)
Type: Contract (9-12+ months)
Location: Remote (U.S. based)
Description:
We are seeking a Network Operations Technician with experience in network monitoring and troubleshooting within a NOC environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with network monitoring tools, transport technologies, and trouble ticketing systems.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze network performance using SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar tools.
Troubleshoot incidents related to SONET, DWDM, Ethernet, DLC, and other transport technologies.
Open, track, and resolve trouble tickets through ServiceNow, Remedy, or comparable systems.
Provide Tier I/II network support and escalate issues as necessary.
Configure and manage network elements (routers, switches, and transport systems).
Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on networking devices.
Support routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS).
Document and follow Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for network tasks.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in network operations or NOC support.
Experience with network monitoring and ticketing systems (SolarWinds, Nagios, ServiceNow, Remedy).
Hands-on background with SONET, DWDM, Ethernet, or DLC transport technologies.
Familiarity with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
Cisco or Juniper experience preferred.
CCNA or equivalent certification is a plus.
Rate: $26/hour W2
