Overview:
As a Cashier at Hometown Coffee & Juice Winnetka, you'll play a key role in creating an exceptional customer experience. This role demands speed, efficiency, and a commitment to quality while maintaining a smooth flow between the kitchen, dining area, and guests. A successful Runner/Cashier will lead by example, demonstrating excellent hospitality, teamwork, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
Quality & Consistency:
- Deliver food and drinks quickly and accurately, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Takes orders smoothly and accurately, applying discounts and modifiers as needed. Helps guests make decisions and is knowledgeable on our menu and offerings.
- Work with team members to maintain accuracy and consistency, setting the bar for hospitality and quality.
Speed & Efficiency:
- Anticipate team needs and keep operations moving smoothly during busy times.
- Multitask effectively, ensuring timely and accurate order delivery while maintaining a calm, organized work environment.
- Lead by example, setting the pace for the team and ensuring the flow remains steady.
Knowledge & Technical Skill:
- Handle all front-of-house tasks, including orders, discounts, and modifiers, smoothly and efficiently.
- Act as a go-to resource for team questions, training, and FOH coordination.
Cleanliness & Sanitation:
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and hold others accountable for cleanliness.
- Regularly check and clean dining and service areas to meet Hometown's standards.
Awareness & Hospitality:
- Proactively anticipate guest needs and provide an exceptional hospitality.
- Respond quickly and professionally to customer requests, contributing to overall satisfaction.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable lifting up to 25-30 pounds (e.g., trays, cleaning supplies).
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Previous customer service or food service experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to multitask and work well in a team during busy periods.
- Strong communication and a customer-oriented attitude.

Pay & Benefits:
- Base hourly wage: $9 - $11 (tip credit wage) plus $9 - $12 in tips per hour. Total hourly compensation typically ranges from $ 18 - $22 with tips.

Entregar alimentos y bebidas de manera rápida y precisa, asegurando que cumplan con los más altos estándares.
Tomar pedidos de forma fluida y precisa, aplicando descuentos y modificadores según sea necesario.
Ayudar a los clientes a tomar decisiones y conocer bien nuestro menú y ofertas.
Trabajar con los compañeros para mantener la precisión y consistencia, estableciendo el estándar de hospitalidad y calidad.
Velocidad y eficiencia:
Anticipar las necesidades del equipo y mantener las operaciones en movimiento durante los momentos de mayor actividad.
Realizar múltiples tareas de manera efectiva, asegurando la entrega oportuna y precisa de los pedidos mientras se mantiene un ambiente de trabajo organizado y tranquilo.
Liderar con el ejemplo, marcando el ritmo para el equipo y asegurando que el flujo se mantenga constante.
Conocimiento y habilidades técnicas:
Manejar todas las tareas del área de atención al cliente, incluyendo pedidos, descuentos y modificadores, de manera fluida y eficiente.
Actuar como recurso principal para preguntas del equipo, capacitación y coordinación del área de servicio.
Limpieza y saneamiento:
Mantener un entorno de trabajo limpio y organizado, responsabilizando a otros por la limpieza.
Revisar y limpiar regularmente las áreas de comedor y servicio para cumplir con los estándares de Hometown.
Atención y hospitalidad:
Anticipar proactivamente las necesidades de los clientes y brindar una hospitalidad excepcional.
Responder de manera rápida y profesional a las solicitudes de los clientes, contribuyendo a su satisfacción general.
Requisitos físicos:
Capacidad para estar de pie y caminar durante largos períodos en un entorno dinámico.
Comodidad para levantar hasta 11-14 kg (por ejemplo, bandejas, suministros de limpieza).
Capacidad para mantener una actitud positiva mientras se trabaja con eficiencia.
Calificaciones:
Experiencia previa en servicio al cliente o en el sector de alimentos preferida, pero no obligatoria.
Capacidad para realizar múltiples tareas y trabajar bien en equipo durante períodos de alta demanda.
Excelentes habilidades de comunicación y actitud orientada al cliente.

Pago y beneficios:
Salario base por hora: $9 - $11 (salario con crédito por propinas), más $9 - $12 en propinas por hora. La compensación total por hora generalmente oscila entre $18 - $22 con propinas.
