Pay Depends on Experience

Responsibilities:
  • Quality auditors will be solely responsible for interpreting and monitoring the knowledge, skill, and ability of field personnel.
  • Quality audits will be performed to ensure compliance with Customer specification, Federal and State code, and any other agency having jurisdiction.
  • Record Keeping Auditors will be responsible for the accurate reporting and documentation of audits performed.
  • All audits performed will be submitted no later than the morning following the completed audit.

Frequency: Quality auditors will be expected to conduct a minimum of two quality audits per day, consisting of two different job site locations. There will exceptions made for high profile, complex projects, and projects where another jurisdictional auditor is present, where the presence of a quality auditor on a single jobsite is required. In addition to this requirement, quality auditors will be required to observe five instances of any combination of the critical tasks (identified below) on a weekly basis, if customer workload allows. Each and every area crew will be audited quarterly at a minimum. Critical tasks

  • Damage prevention activities.
  • Pipe Joining by welding or fusion.
  • Pressure testing.
  • Horizontal directional drilling or other trenchless technologies.
  • Employee knowledge of Abnormal Operating Conditions (AOCs) while performing covered tasks. *It will be the responsibility of the auditor to schedule and plan audits accordingly to meet these requirements.


Communication:

Communication is the key to success. Quality auditors are required to communicate audit findings with the job foreman or competent individual on-site at the completion of each completed audit. This will enable prevention of recurrence of any deficiency noted during the audit.

Other Responsibilities: Quality auditors may be tasked with other responsibilities in which are critical to continuous improvement and growth of the inspection program. These responsibilities are including but not limited to:
  • Attending customer meetings with or in lieu of the quality manager.
  • Interacting with regulatory personnel.
  • Training and coaching.
  • Staying current on all State and Federal regulations and customer specifications.
  • Any other task deemed critical to the growth and performance of the quality inspection program.


Skills & Experience
:

  • A strong knowledge of interpreting customer specifications and a minimum of 5 years of gas utility experience are preferred. and usage of the English language is required.
  • A High School education or GED.
  • Ability to use computers and mobile computer equipment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Communication and organizational skills.
