Senior Director of Operations
Pacific International are partnered with a leader in the medical device sector; a division of an organization of over 100 billion in revenue.
The group is driving an operational excellence culture and entirely new standards are being created in regards to safety, delivery and efficiency. With this, we are seeking a Senior Director of Operations, to sit across and direct a crucial site, serving numerous well-known brands and managing a P&L of 200 million.
This is a crucial location and has a culture of efficient production and quality, which needs to be maintained, while fostering a safe and energetic workplace culture. The implementation of Lean in this process is a vital part of the cultural vision and movement. This person will also be working to create the sense of excellence in a manufacturing environment.
This professional will need to be a hands on and strategic leader, well experienced with a Lean manufacturing processes and industry 4.0 solutions. This is an extremely visible site with extensive development opportunities regionally and globally.
Please note that Pharmaceutical or Medical device experience is not a must, but of course of interest.
Those in food or packaging or similar fast paced environments, utilizing robotics in manufacturing are also of huge interest.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee on-site operations with a focus on safety, financial oversight, and workforce management, ensuring alignment with established standards for product quality, timely delivery, and efficiency.
- Implement innovative solutions to the floor, especially in regards to robotics and Industry 4.0 solutions.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain skilled team members to help achieve organizational goals and meet client expectations.
- Lead efforts aimed at refining processes and driving ongoing improvements.
- Develop operational budgets and manage expenditures tied to labor, variable costs, and manufacturing performance.
- Collaborate with departments such as Supply Chain, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, and Environmental Health & Safety.
- Guide team members through technical problem-solving related to both products and processes.
Qualifications
- Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt or equivalent expertise in using the DMAIC process to identify and minimize process variation.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering (e.g., mechanical, electrical or industrial for example) with over 15 years of relevant industry experience.
- More than 5 years of leadership experience in regulated (GMP) settings, with a strong track record of fostering a culture focused on compliance and quality standards.
- Hands-on involvement in robotics in manufacturing.
- Proven history of leading lean manufacturing initiatives and driving continuous improvement efforts, including the use of structured problem-solving tools like the 5 Whys and root cause analysis.
- Background in representing manufacturing functions during production and sales planning (PSI/S&OP).
- Familiarity with quality management systems.
