Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Client ICU, Critical Care, CVICU, Cardiovascular ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Current IL License Certifications: CPR, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong ICU experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center Willingness to float to Step-Down ICU Graduate of an accredited nursing program Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Step-Down ICU and ICU units. Candidates must have strong ICU experience. Candidates must be willing to float to Step-Down ICU. The candidate must have a current Illinois License, CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Education verification is required. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, and standards of care. Documenting according to standards of care. Developing, initiating, and executing a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by a Physician and/or hospital policy including patient and family instruction. Participating in department or unit performance improvement activities. Utilizing clinical expertise to guide other units or departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care. Utilizing critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalating to the appropriate chain of command. Holiday coverage is required.
