Bookkeeper (Quickbooks online) and admin support Location Northfield, IL :

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with expertise in QuickBooks Online to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for catching up on years of overdue bookkeeping for multiple companies. The ability to work independently, strong numerical skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize QuickBooks Online to accurately record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Compile and organize financial data from various sources to create comprehensive financial reports.
  • Analyze financial data for discrepancies, errors, and variances; recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare and process invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including vendor communication and customer invoicing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, and vendors to address financial inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Work independently to manage multiple companies' overdue bookkeeping tasks efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role, preferably with a focus on catching up on overdue bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with multi-company bookkeeping and managing financial data for multiple entities is desirable.
  • Familiarity with relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Previous experience working with companies in various industries is a plus.
