Job Description

AECOM Hunt has a need for a strong Project Accountant to support our 1B project in Chicago, IL. This position will work from our Chicago ORD airport project office.

• Has advanced knowledge of project accounting, providing support for the most complex and/or large-scale projects.
• Makes recommendations for project improvement based on review of financial results and knowledge of project(s).
• Research general ledger account reconciliations, journal entry preparation and A/R cash adjustments.
• Works with customers or clients to gather and provide information.
• May review contracts for additional service opportunities and assist in converting project proposal into project budget.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS Accounting, Finance or related curriculum and 4 years of experience as a Project Accountant or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience as a Project Accountant within a large general contractor.
• Experience in monthly construction billing, mark-ups, contractor payments.
• Experience collecting waivers, monitoring receivables, process payments, plan and meet on budget reconciliation.
• Compiling financial reporting requirements of project funding sources.
• Preparation of funding applications, firm commitment packages.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Textura, CMiC or other construction/accounting software.

• In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite to enable access to secure portions of the facility for which you are being hired to perform services, you may be required to pass the client's security screening process, which will include, but may not be limited to, Homeland Security background check and fingerprinting. Should this be required it will be done after you have commenced employment, and your participation in that process and a pass rating by the client are both conditions of your continued employment by AECOM.
