Clinical Molecular Technologist

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological or chemical sciences with experience in regulated laboratory settings (CLIA/CAP)
- ASCP Certification in Molecular Biology
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in clinical, product, or research assay development
- Proficiency in manual pipetting and sample preparation for NGS
- Knowledge of genomic technologies, sample accessioning, and data management
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to new procedures
- Good communication skills to document processes and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working within a CLIA lab setting
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Open to someone with a background working in hospital settings with manual NGS workflows
- Experience in developing and validating new molecular methodologies
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and compliance under CLIA/CAP regulations
- Bachelor’s degree with over 3 years or Master’s degree with 1-3 years of relevant molecular laboratory experience
- Proven track record in assay development, validation, and troubleshooting
- Experience with emerging genomics applications and continuous process improvement
- Availability for an initial 6-month contract-to-hire position
- First shift hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Chicago, IL
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Prior industry experience with manual NGS techniques is essential; candidates from automated, highly automated labs such as Tempus are discouraged
