Position Overview

We are hiring experienced Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB) A/R Follow-Up Specialists to support high-volume revenue cycle operations for a large healthcare system.

These roles focus on resolving unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims while ensuring timely reimbursement and maintaining strong payer relationships.

Responsibilities

HB & PB A/R Follow-Up Duties

  • Manage full account follow-up for unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims
  • Perform insurance verification and status checks via payer portals and outbound calls
  • Work accounts through resolution including rebilling, corrections, and appeals
  • Identify root causes of denials and billing issues
  • Collaborate with coding, billing, and payer representatives to resolve complex claim issues

Appeals & Denials Management

  • Execute the appeals process end-to-end
  • Research missing documentation, coding errors, and reimbursement discrepancies
  • Track and document claim activity accurately in systems

Productivity & Quality

  • Meet production goals of 45-55+ accounts/day (PB) and HB equivalent expectations
  • Maintain 95% quality accuracy standard
  • Support cash acceleration and reduce A/R aging through timely follow-up

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3-5+ years of Hospital Billing (HB) and/or Professional Billing (PB) A/R Follow-Up experience
  • Strong knowledge of insurance collections, denials, and appeals workflows
  • Experience working with Government and Commercial payers (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)
  • Strong computer and systems proficiency (EMR/EHR and payer portals)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Cerner / Cerner Millennium
  • Excel proficiency (reporting and tracking trends)
  • Prior remote healthcare revenue cycle experience
  • Ability to analyze denial and reimbursement trends and communicate findings clearly

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM PST
  • 8-hour shift scheduled within operating window
  • Centralized training schedule required during first 2 weeks
