Medical Assistant - Float (Champaign)

Overview

The Float Medical Assistant maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families. This position may involve travel.


Qualifications

• Certifications:
  
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days — American Heart Association (AHA)
• Education:
  
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Work Experience:
  
  • Some healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform routine direct patient‑care tasks to support medical and nursing staff during exams and treatments
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑stocked patient‑care environment while protecting patient privacy
• Obtain and document vital signs during the rooming process
• Complete medication reconciliation with patients
• Chaperone the provider during examinations or procedures
• Perform Point‑of‑Care testing
• Process and prepare laboratory specimens
• Stock and organize exam rooms

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $17.12per hour - $27.73per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
