The Internal Auditor assists in completing operational, financial, and compliance reviews of internal departments and functions to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the Bank's internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. This position regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance and/or confidentiality.

Essential Duties:
- Assist in reviewing operational, compliance, and financial processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management practices.
- Assist in preparing detailed reports documenting the scope, findings, and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with management to develop action plans based on review results.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective action and follow-up on outstanding issues.
- Assist in the completion of the annual internal audit program.
- Assist in the coordination, communication, and support of external auditor, regulator and other third-party reviews of Bank departments and processes.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in internal auditing to continuously improve audit methodologies and processes.
- Answer questions and provide support for issues and questions initiated in the Risk & Compliance Help Desk.
- Assist in the review and creation of regulatory policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of audit or compliance experience, preferably in banking or financial industries
Work Schedule:
This position requires 40 hours each week with work typically being completed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Some travel for training or audit completion may be necessary. Limited travel to other branches may occur.
