Note that all functions described below must be performed, and it is normally the responsibility of the individual in this position to perform them and/or see that they are performed.

• Provide reliable transportation to and from North Central College to Smyser Elementary school in Chicago, utilizing a 15-passenger vehicle, following the course schedule for EDUC 362/EDUC 401.
• Facilitate a safe and secure transportation line for Education department students, faculty, and staff.
• Perform vehicle maintenance inspections to determine exterior and interior damages prior to assuming responsibility of the vehicle. Complete a safety inspection and an operational inspection of the shuttle.
• Promptly report all safety and security concerns relative to the shuttle vehicle and designated shuttle locations to the Transportation Safety and Parking Coordinator.
• Communicate with the Transportation Safety and Parking Coordinator and request assistance for any policy enforcement.
• Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students, and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative, and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.
• Perform all cleaning and COVID-19-related sanitizing duties as required by Campus Safety, Transportation Services, and/or the Department of Education.
• Other duties as appropriately assigned.

An individual in this position must possess the proficiency, wherewithal and knowledge of principles and processes for providing high-quality service to both internal and external constituents of the College.

• Current North Central College student in good standing with GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Enrolled in EDUC 460/401
• Valid and unencumbered U.S. driver's license
• Successful completion of driving history background check and online safe driving course at time of hire and annually thereafter
• Excellent driving and interpersonal skills
• Ability to quickly analyze complex, sensitive, and/or hazardous situations, and quickly devise solutions and action plans
• Ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and decision-making
• Ability to hear and see acutely during day and night-time conditions
• Prior experience in driving large passenger vehicles and transporting passengers is preferred
