HR Generalist (MI)
Job Description
They are the HR generalist supporting these 3 locations: Bay City, Alpina and Flint , MI (only person on the team but will be supported by other HR teams)
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting the personnel function within the company including the administration of personnel records, compliance with laws and regulations concerning personnel, training, interviewing, special projects, etc.??
Main responsibilities: Union engagement and Processing of ADA accommodations, Leave of absence management, Employee investigations (experience required in these areas)
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:?
Develop successful client relationships / business partnerships?
Resolve basic to complex problems by leveraging business / HR knowledge and client relationships?
Anticipate business needs, think proactively and respond appropriately?
Logically organize ideas on issues, develop thorough execution plans and drive process to successful implementation?
Manage multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a sense of urgency and results orientation?
Will be communicating with the business on benefits (Business facing)
Other projects or duties as assigned

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of related experience (Can also look at Associates Degree but preferably Bachelors; HR Generalist background or HR manager at a small company if salary aligns; HR Specialist/Coordinator/Assistant with years of experience ready for the next step)
Experience running Orientation of new hires / onboarding (More of a plus - this can be learned)
Employee relations experience
Knowledge of managing in an Union environment (Ideally in a large company) - Union engagement (Discipline processes, bereavement etc)
How to process ADA accommodations & leave of absence experience (FMLA, Leave of absence, ADA accomodations and Employee investigations experience - this is the biggest responsibility along with Union background)
Disciplines, coaching and addressing situations with employees
Experience with working with many systems (Ideally working
Proficient with HRIS and MS Office programs (Strong technical capabilities)
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Ability to learn new systems quickly and create improved efficiency
