Job Description:

The Central States Division Manager represents, supervises, and manages the sales of Opus One in the assigned multi-state, multi-distributor territory while employing the philosophy and style of Opus One. The Central States Division Manager is responsible for developing, nurturing, and managing critical partnerships with distributors, sales staff, and accounts. The scope of this role includes coaching, managing and motivating in areas of account allocations, depletions, marketing programs, in addition to managing placements in designated active and target accounts. Additionally, the Central States Division Manager must develop and report market analysis, assist in developing and implementing sales and marketing promotions, while performing specific marketing and public relations activities and programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other exempt-level duties may be assigned.

Distributor Responsibilities

Develop, promote, and manage a close working relationship with distributor management and sales force consistent with Opus One culture and philosophy of working to establish and advance the image and prestige of Opus One as one of the great wines of the world
Implement wine allocations with distributors protecting current account relationships and expanding to create new account partnerships
Meet with distributors to review sales vs. plan, depletions, inventory and implementation of programs.
Review accountability of results against stated objectives
Train, educate and motivate distributor sales personnel through field work and sales meetings to achieve goals

Relational Responsibilities

Motivate, supervise, and educate the distributor management and sales force, key accounts and retailers in assigned territories according to market needs, direction, and image of Opus One
Communicate existing and new programs in accordance with company philosophy
Oversee placements, sales vs. plan, depletions, and inventory
Interact with fellow domestic Divisional Sales Managers, administrative teams, and the International Sales team including market blitzes, national and global sales meetings, and virtual team calls

Sales and Market Analysis

Develop, maintain, and update key performance objectives to effectively determine distributor performance, allocations, and sales trends
Produce and analyze distributor reports as well as internal allocation/tracking reports utilizing internal systems
Develop and conduct market surveys to analyze trends and program needs
Officially report market trends and developments to the Vice President of National Sales & Marketing.

Promotion Development

Formulate promotional marketing strategies and develop marketing aids
Implement marketing promotions that are relevant to the unique nature of individual markets

Public Relations

Represent Opus One in regional public forums (e.g. wine symposiums, tastings, dinners, festivals) as a guest speaker

QUALIFICATIONS

6+ years of fine wine industry experience
Strong management background and a thorough understanding of the domestic and international wine market
Extensive wholesale supply channel experience includes developing relationships and managing existing business
Ability to work flexible schedule and travel up to 50% of the time
Action-oriented with a strong drive to achieve defined sales and marketing goals
Proficient in data software: Microsoft Office Suite
Must live withing the following locations; in or around Chicago, Illinois

PREFRRED QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS in Business Administration or related field
Fluency in French is preferred

COMPENSATION: Base Compensation Range: $130,000 – $175,000/ annually*

* The base compensation range is base salary only. In addition to base compensation, all roles are eligible for individual performance bonus and company bonus that range from role to role. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skills, experience, qualifications, and tenure with Opus One.
