POSITION OVERVIEW

Are you a creative, energetic educator looking to make a meaningful impact? We're looking for Lead Teachers to join our preschool classrooms (serving ages 1-5). You'll design and lead engaging experiences that support learning across all developmental domains while nurturing children's curiosity and cultural awareness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement a play-based, culturally responsive curriculum
• Lead age-appropriate transitions, circle time, group activities, and outdoor exploration
• Observe children and document development using assessment portfolios
• Guide positive behavior and social-emotional learning
• Foster an inclusive community that values diversity and Japanese traditions
• Partner with families through regular communication and conferences
• Manage classroom supplies, materials, and learning spaces
• Collaborate with teaching team to ensure consistency and smooth operations
• Support children with diverse learning needs and abilities
• Participate in team planning and professional growth opportunities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Minimum 3+ years of documented experience teaching children in Japanese
• Fluency in Japanese language (both written and spoken) — ability to teach curriculum, communicate with families, and maintain classroom documentation in Japanese
• Current CPR/First Aid certification for children
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese
• Ability to create inclusive, welcoming learning environments
• Passion for supporting the whole child (cognitive, social, emotional, physical, creative)
• Background check clearance - Valid driver's license (for possible field trips)
