Job Title: Staff Accountant

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 / Hourly

JOB SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing standard and ad hoc journal entries monthly to accurately reflect the business transactions of MDRT.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare asset and liability account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

• Documents financial transactions and reallocates expenses.

• Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for the key MDRT bank accounts, including accounts used for outgoing and incoming international wire transfers.

• Prepares monthly account reconciliations for selected MDRT general ledger accounts.

• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.

• Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures.

• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.

• Records account receivable bank transactions.

• Prepares and reconciles various prepaid expense reconciliations monthly.Cross train on other roles to provide coverage for planned and unplanned absences of the accounting personnel.

• Assists in the preparation of the client prepared schedules and supporting documentation necessary for the annual financial statement audit.

• Participates in system implementations as necessary.

• Other projects and responsibilities may be assigned by department discretion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance

• 1-3 years of Accounting/Finance related work experience

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

• Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.

• Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of Senior Management.

• Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other MDRT employees.

• Ability to function as a team player.

• Experience with NetSuite preferred.
