2nd Shift Turning Machinist

The Position: We are seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists for the 2nd shift to operate different CNC turning/lathe machines in our shop utilizing FANUC operating systems. VTL (Vertical Turning Lathes) experience is preferred. You will be operating machines for valuable castings/forgings to manufacture them into quality parts for customers. Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 4:20 pm to 2:50 am. Must be available for overtime including weekends and during peak production times. This position offers a hire-on-bonus.

Job duties: Follow written instructions and read and apply blueprint specifications. Performs a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exact tolerances and finishing specifications. Able to perform simple set-ups of many jobs. May operate more than one machine. Checks parts for conformance to specifications. Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

The Right Person/What we need from you: Should be able to read and write English. Basic computer skills are a plus Preferred five or more years of combined formal training and experience or equivalent Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures Ability to apply recognized tooling and procedures where tolerances are close Blueprint reading ability Requires a high school diploma/GED or equivalent Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
