Role: Multi-Spindle Davenport Set-Up & Production Operator
Labor Grade: 6 | Dept: 1200 | Location: Corporate | Revision: 00
Reports to: Plant Supervisor
What you will do
- Operate and set up Davenport screw machines to produce parts that meet specifications.
- Interpret shop drawings and process sheets to plan setups and inspections.
- Use precision measuring tools; complete attribute and SPC charting.
- Record lot splits; complete job card/scanner inputs; prepare suspect sheets when needed.
- Move materials to the next operation with complete documentation.
- Lubricate, clean, and remove chips from assigned machines each day.
- Select proper materials and tooling; perform minor machine maintenance and adjustments.
- Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with supervisor, engineering, and maintenance.
- Maintain housekeeping and observe all safety procedures.
- Assist with other machines as business needs dictate.

Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; typically 1–3 years related experience. Able to read, write, and apply simple shop math.
- Language: Read/interpret shop drawings, process sheets, safety rules, O&M instructions, and procedure manuals; communicate effectively.
- Math: Arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; hold close tolerances.
- Reasoning: Solve practical problems with limited standardization; interpret written/oral/diagram/schedule instructions; team-oriented and courteous.
- Computer: Learn and use Driv-Lok computer systems.
- Certs/Licenses: None required.
- Supervision: This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts in a factory environment with noise, oil, and smoke.
The employee will be working with Automatic machines, precision measuring instruments, hand and fork lift trucks, scoops, weight scales, and copy machine.
