Job Title: Sterile Processing Production Coordinator
Location: Elmhurst, Illinois
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Production Coordinator to support daily operations within a Sterile Processing Department (SPD). This role is critical in ensuring seamless coordination of loaner and consignment trays, optimizing workflow efficiency, and maintaining strong communication between vendors, clinical teams, and internal staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Loaner & Consignment Tray Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for managing incoming and outgoing loaner and consignment trays.
- Verify accuracy, completeness, and integrity of tray contents before and after sterilization.
- Coordinate with vendors, clinical teams, and SPD staff to ensure timely processing and availability.
- Track and document tray movement throughout the full sterilization and return cycle.
Production & Workflow Oversight:
- Oversee daily production flow in collaboration with SPD leadership.
- Prioritize workloads and ensure efficient task distribution.
- Identify and resolve workflow delays, discrepancies, or bottlenecks.
- Provide guidance and oversight to Production Technicians as needed.
Communication & Relationship Management:
- Act as a liaison between vendors, clinical partners, and internal teams.
- Maintain consistent communication regarding tray status, delivery timelines, and special requests.
- Represent the organization professionally in all interactions.
Data Accuracy & Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into tracking systems.
- Maintain sterilization records and tray tracking documentation.
- Generate reports on activity, trends, and operational performance.
- Support compliance with regulatory and documentation standards.
What You Will Deliver:
- Efficient coordination of all loaner and consignment tray activities.
- Strong communication that enhances relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Organized, data-driven workflow management.
- Continuous process improvement through accuracy and accountability.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 5 days/week, 8 hours/day
- Hours: 40 hours per week
Qualifications:
Required:
- 3–5 years of hands-on SPD experience, with strong exposure to loaner and consignment tray management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- CRCST or CSPDT certification.
- Strong organizational and tracking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience with instrument tracking systems and reporting tools.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
