Retail Compliance & Recall Coordination Specialist - Call Center
Location: Deerfield, IL – Local Candidates Preferred | Remote during contract with potential onsite requirements
Duration & Type: Contract (Approx. 4 Weeks with Potential Extension), 40 hours per week (CST) with occasional overtime or after-hours response during urgent recall events

Chamberlain Advisors is partnering with a large national retail healthcare organization to identify a Retail Compliance & Recall Coordination Specialist to support time-sensitive product recall and compliance initiatives across a nationwide store network in the call center.This role serves as a key operational coordinator responsible for ensuring that urgent product recalls, pull-and-quarantine actions, and compliance communications are executed accurately and efficiently across retail locations. The specialist will act as a liaison between compliance teams, field operations, merchandising, supply chain, and store leadership to confirm that recall actions are completed, documented, and substantiated within required timelines.This is a highly detail-oriented role requiring strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills. What You Will Be Accountable For
- Track and manage product Pull & Quarantine and recall actions from initiation through final substantiation
- Contact retail store locations to communicate urgent recall instructions and confirm removal and proper disposal of affected products
- Follow up with store leadership to ensure recall actions are completed within required timelines
- Maintain detailed records of store interactions, recall confirmations, and corrective actions taken
- Serve as a communication bridge between Compliance, Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Quality, and Technical teams during recall events
- Coordinate and distribute recall communications and compliance notifications to field teams
- Assist in preparing and updating compliance documentation, SOPs, and job aids
- Support the maintenance of internal compliance tracking tools and reporting systems
- Monitor recall progress and escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal stakeholders
- Assist with broader retail compliance initiatives related to regulated product categories including alcohol, food safety, tobacco, and lottery
- Support audits, reporting activities, and documentation management for compliance programs
What Qualifications You Need
- 10+ years of customer service, call center, compliance coordination, or operational support experience
- Experience handling high-volume phone communication and issue resolution
- Strong ability to document interactions, maintain records, and track operational tasks through completion
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Managing large datasets, VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables
- Duplicate identification and data validation
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow through on urgent operational actions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with store leadership and cross-functional teams
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and process adherence
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting retail operations, compliance, product recalls, or quality assurance initiatives
- Prior experience working with regulated retail environments (food safety, tobacco, alcohol, pharmacy, etc.)
- Exposure to audit preparation, compliance reporting, or operational documentation processes
- Experience serving as a point of escalation for operational issues or customer concerns
