Job Summary

Manage and review the work and staff related to grant programs and activities to accomplish plans and results. Direct the daily operations of the Bureau/Department's grant staff and review new grant agreements. Conduct periodic invoicing, report financial reconciliations, and perform grant closeout functions. Plan and allocate resources to perform research of policies and procedures related to grant programs. Ensure strong financial management practices, including budget development and management, financial controls, compliance, accountability, and customer service. Communicate compliance rule changes and general trends/innovation issues within the Bureau/Department. Serve as a liaison with other Bureaus/Departments to provide assistance during annual audits of financial grant accounting.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and private grant programs.
  • Knowledge of grant management, monitoring, and evaluation. Knowledge of financial accounting, budget and cost analysis, and forecasting principles.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing techniques.
  • Ability to manage team efforts to resolve countywide grant accounting and audit issues.
  • Ability to manage professional and/or skilled support staff on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability to lead within the established objectives and make decisions regarding daily priorities and the application of technical/business processes for a work group or segment of a department.
  • Ability to set overall direction and hold staff accountable for accomplishing work objectives by fostering positive relationships between employees, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to use organizational and/or department objectives and goals to identify processes by which to meet those goals.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a directly related field and
  • Five (5) years of accounting, finance, grants, developing budgets, or a directly related experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.
  • Three (3) years of prior supervisory experience is required.


Physical Requirements

Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Salary Range: $$110,420 - $121,879/yearly
