Travel RN Job Details

• Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Hospital
• Start Date: September 1, 2025
• End Date: December 1, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: Up to 36 hours may be called off per 13-week assignment
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000–$2050
• Scrub Color: Any solid color
• Charting System: Cerner EMR
• Parking: Free with permit

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent SICU or critical care nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA or Red Cross only)
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Previous travel RN experience required
• Ability to float to other intensive care units (ICUs) as needed
• Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment spans holiday period
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• First-time travel nurses not accepted

SICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult SICU patients with complex surgical and neurological diagnoses
• Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced interventions: ventilator management, arterial and central line care, EVD, CRRT, and vasoactive drips
• Conduct frequent neurological assessments and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, blood products, and emergency interventions as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other ICUs within scope to support facility needs
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Assist with bedside procedures and post-operative care
