Seasonal Grain Operator - Evergreen FS - Arrowsmith, IL

Salary: $16-18/hour

Responsibilities:

• Responsible handling grain (incoming and outbound), ensures grain quality, maintains equipment and provides outstanding customer service.
• Assist in all areas of the unloading, loading and transferring of grain and grain products which may include but not be limited to truck and rail operations. Monitors quality and condition of all grain moving through or stored in the facility.
• Operation of conveyance equipment that is utilized in the shipping, receiving and transferring of grain and grain products and the associated safety systems of that equipment.
• Uses proper aeration techniques to maintain grain quality and minimize shrinkage.
• Assures proper segregation of all inbound grain, performs and monitors effective blending of all outbound grain.
• Greets customers and thanks them for their patronage. Assists customers with loading and unloading of grain. Answers customer questions and reports customer complaints.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of loading, unloading areas and facility. Monitors equipment and either reports or corrects equipment failures. Attends safety training and safety meetings. Reports unsafe conditions or unsafe behavior immediately.
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent and farm or agriculture knowledge helpful.
• Work flexible hours through the harvest season which runs approximately mid-September to mid-November. Hours dependent on the weather and length of season. Weekends hours required.

• Frequently required to lift 50 pounds or more and work at heights over 150 feet.
• Frequently exposed to dust, heat, cold and high noise level.
• Ability to work hours beyond those considered normal.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
