CNC Machinist

Responsibilities

Master of the Machine:

• Execute Complex Machining: Expertly perform and lead complex turning and milling tasks on CNC and manual machining centers, ensuring 100% quality parts that meet exacting blueprint dimensions and close tolerances.
• Setup and Programming Mastery: Perform simple and complex set-ups, debug CNC programs, and fully document all completed setups according to standard procedures. Develop simple CNC programs using machine controls and edit existing programs to optimize machining processes and extend tool life.
• Technical Authority: Serve as a machining Subject Matter Expert (SME), troubleshooting problem processes in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers, and providing guidance on tool/insert selection and utilizing correct feeds and speeds.

Quality and Safety Champion:

• Precision Inspection: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to effectively manufacture and inspect parts. Conduct critical first-piece inspections, monitor own work, and fully document inspection reports.
• Maintain Operational Excellence: Ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and follow established preventative maintenance schedules for equipment.
• Safety First: Actively drive safe operations by identifying safety risks and strictly adhering to all safety procedures, requirements, and regulations.

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 40lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week

Skills

• CNC Programming (3 years of experience is required)
• CNC (5 years of experience is required)
• Lathe (3 years of experience is preferred)
