- Diagnose and troubleshoot AC, DC, and Servo drives at the component and circuit level, including power sections, control boards, feedback systems, and I/O modules.
- Perform component-level repairs on industrial motor drives, servo amplifiers, motion control systems, and related electronic assemblies .
- Replace defective components (IGBTs, MOSFETs, capacitors, resistors, encoders, power supplies, etc.) and perform required calibrations and parameter setup.
- Conduct functional testing, load testing, and verification to ensure repaired drives meet OEM specifications and performance requirements.
- Use diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, logic analyzers, and soldering/rework equipment .
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and technical manuals related to industrial drive and motion control systems .
- Maintain accurate repair documentation, including fault analysis, parts used, test results, and time tracking in the repair management system.
- Identify recurring failures in drive systems and provide feedback to engineering and quality teams for root cause analysis and process improvement.
- Follow ESD, electrical safety, and OSHA standards when handling high-voltage and sensitive electronic equipment.
- Support inventory control by identifying commonly used drive components and reporting part shortages.
- Collaborate with technicians, customer service, and management to meet turnaround times and customer commitments.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with drive technologies, servo systems, and industrial electronics repair techniques .
- Repair Quality: Delivering reliable, fully tested repairs for AC, DC, and Servo drives that meet technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Turnaround Time: Completing drive repairs efficiently to minimize customer downtime.
- Documentation Accuracy: Ensuring all repair records, test data, and part usage are complete and accurate.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhering to ESD, electrical safety, and company standards while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Equipment Care: Proper use and maintenance of diagnostic, test, and repair equipment.
- Customer Satisfaction: Supporting the companys reputation by providing dependable drive repairs and professional internal communication.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying trends in drive failures and assisting in process, test, or design improvements.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Mechatronics , or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience repairing AC drives, DC drives, Servo drives, or industrial motion control equipment .
- Strong understanding of power electronics , motor control theory, and component-level troubleshooting.
- Experience working with IGBT-based power sections, control logic, feedback devices, and drive communication interfaces .
- Proficient in soldering, de-soldering, and PCB rework techniques.
- Skilled in using electronic test and measurement equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
