General laborer and Plant sales Associate
Job Description:
This role involves working with a number of different team members and helping the store in a variety of ways. You will assist customers, clean and organize, water and care for plants, and work behind the register. We’re looking for someone eager to chip in, who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty, and is always proactively looking for tasks. This is a great role for someone who wants to gain experience and learn about everything we do at Barn Owl.
Requirements:
Holiday availability is required for Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day weekend. This position requires a lot of physical activity. You must be comfortable lifting bags up to 50 pounds, being on your feet all day, and working outdoors. Since you will be watering and working in the elements, you must be comfortable in moderately uncomfortable situations, including getting wet and working in hot hoop houses. You should be comfortable interacting with customers and coworkers and be proactive in helping around the store. Ability to use and work behind the counter on a Point of Sale system is required.
Nice to have:
If you have an understanding of plants and how to care for them that would be wonderful and set you up for success. Also, being able to help and talk with customers in a retail setting would be a great skill to have. Much of the job you will find yourself changing hats often so being able to be adaptable, and to enjoy that, is a great attribute.
