School Social Worker (School-Based Contract)

Location: Gurnee, IL 60031

Contract Duration: 12 Weeks

Pay Rate: $45–$50 per hour

Schedule & Shift

• Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Friday

• Daily Hours: 7.5 hours per day

• Shift Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• Weekly Hours: 37.5 billable hours

Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a qualified School Social Worker for a temporary leave coverage assignment at an intermediate school in Gurnee, Illinois . This role focuses on providing direct student services, collaborating with school staff and families, and supporting a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services to students

• Conduct social-emotional and behavioral assessments

• Develop and implement intervention plans and student support strategies

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff

• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school, state, and federal guidelines

• Support students in developing coping, problem-solving, and social skills

• Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions

• Advocate for students’ academic, social, and emotional needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker Endorsement

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary teams

• Knowledge of school-based interventions, IEP processes, and student support services

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a school or educational setting

• Experience supporting intermediate or middle school–aged students
