The Marketing Manager (MM) designs, develops, and implements commercial plans, programs, and promotional materials needed to build market leadership in a competitive landscape with a key focus on the Peer-to-peer. The Marketing Manager will work closely with multiple commercial operation departments to ensure success in product launch, support, and sales execution. Internally, the MM will foster positive working relationships with the sales force, medical affairs, market research, sales training, regulatory, competitive intelligence, and other cross franchise teams. Externally, the MM works with various agencies, consultants, and physicians to successfully drive the business. The MM does not have direct reports but must demonstrate the ability to lead without authority and build a collaborative and integrated commercial team.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Develop tactics that align to the strategic brand plan primarily for peer-to-peer program, launch meetings, promotional and non-promotional deliverables.
- Support and participate in the development of strategy and tactics for upcoming new product launch.
- Manage external industry conferences and engage with external customers.
- Collaborate with the National Sales Director and in field teams (Strategic Account Executives, MSLs, FPATs, etc.) to coordinate launch meeting logistics and align with training initiatives.
- Utilize the MM2 system to effectively route marketing projects, helping to alleviate workload and streamline team priorities.
- Oversee peer-to-peer programs, including managing the bureau and associated p2p assets to maximize engagement and operational efficiency.
- Perform budget tracking and budget acumen with deliverables.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate promotional programs and activities to achieve product sales objectives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders where appropriate.
- Direct marketing activities to targeted audiences ensuring that communications are aligned to segment-specific drivers.
- Monitor and analyze all sources of company and industry sales and marketing data.
- Proactively support the sales force through ongoing communications of product plans, as well as through development and implementation of effective selling materials.
- Conduct routine field travel with the sales force, participate in market research and patient immersions to better understand market drivers and dynamics and to “get in the shoes” of our consumers and health care providers.
- Manage internal/external networks, consultants, and agency partners.
- Continually evaluate the effectiveness of marketing plans and recommend changes in strategy or tactics as appropriate.
- Participate on cross-functional teams.
- Communicate up, down, and laterally in an effective manner.
Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
Basics:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5-7+ years of general marketing experience or 3-5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on Oncology involving project/agency management.
- 3-5 years of experience in leading independent projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Concept of budget development and management for marketing programs and tactics.
- Strong collaboration and team orientation.
- Strong analytics with excellent overall business acumen including budget planning and management.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing matrix partners.
- Leadership skills.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with senior management and external partners.
Preferred:
- Brand marketing/launch experience in pharmaceutical marketing or sales
- Sales experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology
- Rare disease/oncology/hematology experience
- Knowledge of marketing concepts within strategic planning process.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively cross-functionally.
- Strong presentation experience and proficient PowerPoint skills.
- Strong collaboration and team orientation, with experience accomplishing results through others and influencing others.
- Demonstrated understanding of principles of market research to draw valid conclusions.
- Experience working with and managing multiple external agencies including advertising, digital, external and internal partners.
- Demonstrated ability to operate quickly and decisively in a fast-paced, matrixed, and demanding environment.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
