Sourcing Specialist

LaSalle Network is hiring on behalf of a growing manufacturing organization seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join their team. This individual will drive sourcing strategies for raw materials used in manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on project management, supplier partnerships, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can think critically, work independently, and collaborate cross-functionally to identify sourcing solutions and improve supplier performance.

This position has opened due to increased strategic sourcing initiatives and the need for enhanced supplier management and category optimization within the procurement team.

Sourcing Specialist Responsibilities:

• Lead the review and analysis of 15–20 product categories, assessing data and determining strategic sourcing actions
• Manage supplier relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders and plant management to identify raw material needs and alternatives
• Evaluate market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and sourcing improvements
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify substitute raw materials and innovative sourcing solutions
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories, including supplier performance analysis and quality oversight
• Build strong supplier partnerships to proactively resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
• Support ongoing optimization of sourcing strategies, processes, and cost efficiencies
• Ensure alignment of sourcing initiatives with overall business objectives

Sourcing Specialist Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
• 2–3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, project management, or a related field
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and with external suppliers
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proactive, results-driven mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity located in downtown Chicago, offering a pay rate of $32/hour or higher based on experience as well as medical and dental benefits. This role is onsite 2 days/week and provides an excellent opportunity to grow within a strategic sourcing function while working closely with cross-functional teams and leadership.
