Senior Accountant
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Oversee the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger, ensuring proper posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making and recommend improvements to processes, controls, and profitability
- Assist in the development and maintenance of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads and senior management
- Lead the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring the timely and accurate submission of required documentation
- Perform and review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including sales tax, property tax, and income tax
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., R&D, Operations, Sales) to provide financial insight and support strategic initiatives
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, ensuring development opportunities and fostering a collaborative work environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting software (experience with SAP, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems preferred)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of financial management
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, and evolving environment
- Advanced Excel skills required; familiarity with ERP and accounting software is a plus
