Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to direct the overall accounting functions within our organization, utilizing QuickBooks Online. The role ensures compliance with accounting regulations and standards while adhering to company policies and procedures. This position involves cross-functional collaboration and offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvements in processes and systems.
Responsibilities

Handle accounting transactions, including Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R).

Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.

Manage vendor and customer setup in QuickBooks Online.

Perform month-end close responsibilities.

Track, update, and balance accrual accounts.

Manage balance sheet, profit/loss statements, cash flow, and other financial documents as requested.

Comply with financial policies and regulations and identify opportunities for process and system improvements.

Compile information for internal and external auditors as required.

Match daily bank transactions to QuickBooks and resolve any discrepancies.

Backup for ensuring accurate and timely daily cash flow and intercompany transfers for each entity.

Produce periodic financial reports ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

Provide backup for payroll tasks.

Review timesheets and rates for project-related work and verify against invoices.

Support company growth through evolving role responsibilities.
Essential Skills
-
Experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

QuickBooks experience is beneficial.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent experience.

Strong attention to detail with good analytical skills.

Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare comprehensive financial reports.

Excellent analytical, organizational, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

Proactive communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with management, vendors, and customers.

Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Salle, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.87/hr.
