Fiber Installation Technician

Job Summary:

The Field Technician is responsible for the installation, splicing, and maintenance of fiber optic and cable networks at various field locations. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing installation and repair work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, route, and secure fiber optic and copper cables at customer and site locations
• Perform fiber optic splicing, cable joining, and wire termination
• Test fiber optic connections using appropriate testing equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in fiber optic and cable networks
• Follow work orders, technical drawings, and network layouts
• Use PPE at all times, including safety boots, goggles, and hard hats
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments safely
• Ensure all work complies with company procedures and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge of fiber optic cable installation and splicing techniques
• Experience in joining wires and handling fiber optic cables
• Awareness of workplace safety standards and PPE requirements
• Ability to work outdoors and in physically demanding conditions
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
