Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education teacher position is available at a high school in Belvidere, IL, focusing on life skills education. This contract role operates on a normal school year schedule, with daily hours from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM. The teacher will be responsible for managing a caseload of 14 students, delivering specialized instruction tailored to meet individual life skills goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, write, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of 14 students
• Provide specialized instruction in life skills and other core educational areas
• Collaborate with staff, families, and related service providers to support student progress
• Monitor and report on student performance and adapt instructional methods as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations

Qualifications:

• Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 Certificate is required
• Experience in writing and managing student IEPs
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
